I can’t wait for you to dive into this super quick episode about tracking your period! Are you PAYING ATTENTION to your period?

 

Do you know the answers to these questions?:

WHEN does it come?⁣

For HOW MANY days?⁣

What COLOR is it?⁣

Is it HEAVY?⁣

Is it LIGHT?⁣

Are there blood CLOTS?⁣

Is it CONSISTENT?⁣

Your period is your monthly REPORT CARD.⁣ It’s our 5th VITAL SIGN. A PHYSICAL sign of your INTERNAL & OVERALL health.⁣ I NEVER payed attention to my period because I had NO IDEA WHY it mattered!⁣ It wasn’t even something I consciously thought about it!⁣ If I got my period okay I got it.  If I didn’t, I didn’t.

I NEVER kept track of it. I NEVER thought I NEEDED to. I never knew ANYTHING about it because I was never TAUGHT anything about it!⁣

If we’re having IRREGULAR cycles, PAINFUL periods, HEAVY periods, NO PERIODS, etc. THAT’S our body’s way of TELLING US there’s an UNDERLYING issue that NEEDS to be UNCOVERED & ADDRESSED!⁣

The 1st step is PAYING ATTENTION to your period.⁣

STEPS TO TAKE GOING FORWARD:

  • Get a tracker app (I use myFLO)
  • Count how many days it is
  • NOTICE the SYMPTOMS you get, NOTICE the COLOR & the CONSISTENCY.⁣
  • DAY 1 IS THE FIRST DAY OF BLEEDING. 
  • A regular period is anywhere from 21-35 days.
  • What’s important is that it’s always the same give or take a couple days.⁣

 

IF I knew that OVULATING was CRUCIAL to my OVERALL HEALTH, METABOLISM, THYROID, BONES, SKIN, HAIR, STRESS RESPONSE, I would’ve paid more attention & given more WEIGHT to the fact that I wasn’t getting a period at all for 2 full years!⁣ It wasn’t a PRIORITY because I wasn’t trying to get pregnant.⁣
